Pictures are said to be worth a thousand words. Artists and Cartoonists use images to convey meaning in powerful ways. Check out the following. Pick the one that moves you most, describe the one you've chosen and then tell us what it means to you in your own words.
The picture that speaks to me most is the first one with the kid with the soccer ball surrounded by kids on their phones. This is very applicable to this generation because there are so many kids growing up where at 3 years old, they know how to work an iPad. Kids need to be active and have a life away from their electronic devices because then they will never really know how to interact with kids and make friends.
ReplyDeleteThe picture that speaks to me the most, personally, is the image of the chainsaw attached to the mouse. This represents how the age of the computer is cutting of some of our creativity. Where we used to have a box of crayola crayons, we now have an iPad, or a phone. This resonates deeply with me, as my family and I try to make an effort to turn off the devices often, but more and more I find us retreating. There is also a rise in computer generated images, which can be just as beautiful, but some of the physicality is taken away, and that is a downright shame.
ReplyDeleteThe picture that speaks the most to me is the graph depicting the value of something based on its current relationship to you. This picture speaks volumes because it is very true. No one is ever content with what we have. There are people starving and suffering all over the world, and yet we still become discontented when we find the new iPhone isn't all we thought it would be when we were pining after it last week. We need to change the toxic ways of thinking that our society has developed and work to make this graph no longer true.
ReplyDeleteThe picture that speaks to me the most is the man looking outside the window with the Facebook binoculars even though he has the door open. This picture really explains our world today because people relay on social media to live their lives. People often think that if they have a lot of friends on social media than they are considered liked or popular.
